When Vebjørn Sand agreed to teach at The Actors Hub Oslo, we didn’t fully understand why an artist of his stature — one of Norway’s great modern painters, often compared to figures like Edvard Munch — would choose to step into our small, growing community.
We now know the truth: he did it to lift us. Vebjørn understands how brutally difficult it is to survive as an artist, and instead of taking any payment, he donated everything back to the Hub so we could stand on our feet.
His workshop became the foundation for our upcoming Toscana program — a journey into art, courage, and creativity. A true modern-day hero of the arts, Vebjørn embodies generosity, vision, and a belief in others that is as rare as it is profound.
