Paul Johansson came to Norway for the first time just a year ago, and instantly became one of The Hub’s absolute favorites. With his Norwegian and Swedish genetics, he walked into the room and our actors felt like he belonged here almost as if he had come home.

Paul began his career on the global 90s phenomenon Beverly Hills, 90210. Being the good-looking man he is, escaping the “heartthrob” label wasn’t exactly easy. But he broke out of it with determination and craft, building a career that spans three decades across acting, writing, directing, and producing.
He is best known internationally for his iconic role as Dan Scott in the long-running hit series One Tree Hill, where he also established himself behind the camera, directing multiple episodes and shaping the emotional tone of the show.
Over the years, Paul has directed and acted in numerous film and television productions, working with studios such as Warner Bros., Paramount, and major networks like CW, Showtime, and Netflix, writing with Nick Cassevetes and even selling scripts that Nick will be directing, maybe he will cast you? His work has earned him industry respect not only for his performance skills but for his storytelling instincts-raw, human, and deeply character-driven.
Paul has now visited Norway twice, and it’s no secret: he loves this country. He feels connected to the people, the landscape, and especially the actors. In his words, “Norwegians have a soulfulness that films are hungry for.”
He will be coming back soon, because he feels like one of us. Even though he grew up in Kelowna, Canada, his Scandinavian heart clearly survived the flight.
